Clinpath Laboratories provide a collection service from AHA Seaford Meadows Day & Night Clinic.

Generally no appointment is necessary but you will need a referral from the doctor.
Some special tests such as glucose tolerance test or urea breath test require extra time and MUST be booked in prior to you attending.
ECGs are performed at AHA Seaford Meadows Day and Night Clinic by appointment and the tracing can either be delivered direct to the doctor or it can be returned with a full cardiologist report.
Please note: ECGs and Holter Monitors are reimbursed under Medicare (bulk-billed). Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors are not yet reimbursed under Medicare (there is no charge for DVA Gold Card holders) upfront payment is required at time of booking.

Preparing for your test
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
You will need to book to have the monitor fitted and, as you cannot get the device wet so you should attend after bathing. A top with loose sleeves will best accommodate the cuff and a firm waistband will help support the monitor.
You should continue with your normal daily activities, preferably including a work day rather than a rest day.
You should take all your usual medications.
You will be required to complete a diary of your activities to support this test.
Helicobacter Test
You are to fast for a minimum 4-6 hours prior to the test. This includes both food and water.
This test takes approximately 20 minutes.
However, any prescription medication other than those listed below can be taken with a sip of water. The following medications should NOT be taken prior to the test:

Holter Monitoring
You will need to wear a loose fitting shirt or top as the technician will need access to the chest area.
Bathe or shower on the morning of the test as in some instances you will not be able to do so for at least the next 24 hours.
No other preparation is required.
Harmony NIPT
The Harmony Prenatal Test can be done as early as 10 weeks into the pregnancy.
Please ensure you have a Harmony request form when attending this test.
This test must be booked online via the Harmony portal and there is a fee associated with this test. Please go to the Clinpath website for further information at www.clinpath.com.au
Lactose Tolerance Test
To prepare for the test, it is a good idea to ask your doctor about which test you will be taking, and to ask about any dietary restrictions.
Your physician may ask that you not eat or drink for eight hours before the test. Your physician may also restrict your exercise.
Make sure your provider knows about any other conditions you may have and any medications you are currently taking. Some medications and foods can interfere with test results.
Smoking may also affect test results. If you are a smoker, ask your doctor if you should abstain from tobacco prior to taking the test.
Glucose Tolerance test
If you’re asked to fast, you can’t eat anything for 8-12 hours before the test. You should drink only water.
It is important to maintain a normal mixed diet for at least 3 days prior to this test.
If you are having an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), you will need to drink a glucose drink provided after your fasting test, then stay for an additional few hours for further testing.
This test will take approximately 2 ½ hours.
Do not smoke or conduct exercise in the 30 minutes prior to and during the test.
It is important that you sit quietly during this test.
