Consultations normally last 10-15 minutes however, if you need more time, please discuss this with the receptionist when making your appointment. All medicals, first antenatal visits and minor surgical procedures require special bookings.
Appointments are to be cancelled a minimum of 2 hours prior to the allocated appointment time. Failure to do this will attract a fee.
Provision is made for urgent appointments. If you need urgent assistance please let the receptionist know.
In the case of sudden chest pain or major trauma, dial 000 to request an ambulance.
If your doctor requires you to see a specialist, it is often more convenient for you to make your own appointment direct with the specialist's rooms. However, if you are unable to arrange this, the receptionist will be happy to assist you.
Please enquire about any necessary referrals to a specialist when consulting with your doctor.
As from the 2nd of January 2020 AHA Seaford Meadows Day and Night Clinic will become a mixed billing medical practice and no longer bulk bill all patients.
We have had to make this change because of years of Government freezes to the Medicare rebate and from 1 January 2020 a 30% cut to the bulk billing incentive rebate.
Therefore, from 2nd January 2020:
Consultations for care plans, health assessments, mental health care plans and test results will continue to be bulk billed for all patients.
Note: A small charge may apply for minor surgical procedures. Fees & Charges may change.
Work Cover and Third Party Consults and procedures are to be settled in full on the day of your appointment.
As of September 2019, the Australia Health Alliance Clinics will be introducing a fee for wound care.
The costs related to dressings and equipment are NOT covered by Medicare and we can no longer afford to cover the total costs. We are therefore introducing a payment for all wound care appointments of $10.
As of September 2019, the Australia Health Alliance (AHA) Clinics will be introducing a procedural fee. This is due to the increasing cost of consumables for procedures and the decreasing funds available through Medicare for medical services in the community.
It is asked that patients pay the full amount on the day treatment is received by your doctor.
Fees will be discussed at the time of consult.
AHA will continue to bulk bill patients for standard consultations.
It can be difficult to always run to time and delays are sometimes unavoidable in a medical environment due to emergencies and difficult cases.
If the doctor is running behind by more than 30 minutes we will try to let you know before your appointment time.
Home visits are available to our regular patients (within a 5km radius) where their condition prevents them from attending the surgery.
Please let your doctor know if you require this service.
Note: Bulk billing does not routinely apply to home visits.
Although most problems are best handled via direct consultation, a doctor will always be available during normal surgery hours for emergency advice.
A reminder system is available to encourage you to book for routine investigations and/or immunisations.
If you would like to register for one of our reminders, please let our receptionist know, or discuss it with your doctor.
We recommend all females who are sexually active to have a Cervical Screening every 5 years (or more often as advised by your doctor).
All patients are asked to return to see their doctor for test results.
No results will be given over the telephone.
An SMS reminder will be sent to your mobile phone the day before your appointment. However, this is a clinic courtesy service, we ask that you still set your own reminders.
It is the clinics requirements that a minimum of 2 hours notice is given for cancellation of all appointments. Non attendance fees will apply.
If you do not wish to receive SMS reminders please inform our receptionists.
Patients need to make an appointment to see a doctor for referrals & sick certificates.
It is not medically safe to issue a prescription without a consultation. Therefore we request that you check your prescription requirements prior to a consultation. All prescriptions will require you to visit the doctor.
